Demet Cilden-Guler completed her PhD in the Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering Department at Istanbul Technical University (ITU) in 2021. She is currently an Assistant Professor in the same department. She has conducted research visits at Tampere University, the University of Colorado Boulder, and KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
She has received three awards for her thesis: the TUBA-TEKNOFEST PhD Science Award (First Place) from the Turkish Academy of Sciences, the Serhat Ozyar Young Scientists of the Year Honorary Award from the Orta Doğu Ogretim Elemanlari Dernegi, and the Best Doctoral Thesis Award from ITU. Additionally, she was awarded the Amelia Earhart Fellowship by the Zonta International Foundation during her doctoral studies.
Dr. Cilden-Guler is the author/co-author of more than 40 conference papers and 17 SCI journal articles. Her research interests include Kalman filtering, attitude determination and control, the effects of the space environment on satellite attitude, and fault detection and isolation.
